VACANCY
for
CLERK AND RESPONSIBLE FINANCE OFFICER
Breamore is a small village near Fordingbridge which has a little over 300 residents
and a precept of £5,565.
Breamore Parish Council is seeking a clerk and responsible finance officer (RFO).
The successful candidate will be working an average of 15 hours per month mainly
from home. The salary is negotiable from NJC SCP 6 (£10.21 per hour) depending on
qualifications and experience and calculated on a pro rata basis. The candidate will
be required to attend bi-monthly evening meetings, usually held on the first Monday
of the month, plus any extra meetings that may be necessary throughout the year.
At the moment, due to Covid-19, the meetings are being held virtually but should
return to the usual face to face meetings held at Hulse Hall in Breamore.
Experience in local council administration and/or accounts management is preferred,
the candidate should have good organisational, communication and IT skills and would
be willing to undertake ongoing training courses as required.
As Proper Officer for the council the Clerk/RFO will be responsible for managing
all areas of council business including advising the parish councillors in all aspects
of local governance and council finances. Some flexibility may be needed when additional
hours are required for specific council tasks, additionally there will be allowances
for work related expenses.
We welcome applicants who are already clerks for other parish councils and wish to
take on a dual role.
It is an interesting and diverse role giving the applicant the opportunity to meet
new people and work along side other agencies in the surrounding area.
